"What?! Oh no! C'mon, that's not fair! This sucks big time!"

That was my reaction when I looked outside today for the first time. That's right fellow readers, the nation's capital has been hit with its first snowfall. I'm not a big fan of the snow. But it certainly has some advantages.

A fresh snowfall has a very romantic sense. Just think about it. There you are with a girl you care dearly about, walking through this winter wonderland. The only sound that goes along with your voice is the crushing of snow underneath your boots. The lighting is perfect and it is not that cold. You pause for a moment with her and take in all your surroundings. Then, you look into each other's eyes and suddenly there is a sense of Utopia. And it's under the December moon that your lips first meet. The world seems suddenly perfect.

Someday.....

Well, that's all for now.

Well, where do I begin.

First off, I would like to thank my friend Tim for introducing me to this site. I have always believed that everyone has a desire to express themselves. Tim certainly does and I do too.

I am called THE HEK. It's a nickname that a couple of people have suggested to me before and now I feel I've found an excellent way to use it. The word "Hek" is taken from the last three letters of my lastname.

I love to write. I don't care what it is; poetry, novels, stories, essays, screenplays, articles, etc. I think I acquired this enjoyment from my father. For those who might know him, this may come as a surprise. My father has written many things. Like me, he's a poet and an author and according to my mother, he has written some romantic love letters (Although that's something I don't want to think about). I live far away from him now and every month he sends me letters telling me about the present and his childhood. Sometimes reading his letters makes me very emotional.

So, with this space, I plan to express myself.

The Hek.
