Re. The 1981 Montreal Expos

(My latest from TheGoodPoint.com)

2011 marked the 30th anniversary of the Montreal Expos' first and only playoff appearance. It was also the first time the MLB post-season took place on Canadian soil.

Sadly, this important milestone was almost entirely ignored by the mainstream media.

Take a trip down memory lane.

Enjoy!

Re. the Los Angeles Clippers

So the good people at TheGoodPoint.com allowed me to write an article about the LA Clippers. In it, I question how the Clippers survive in a city that seems to care more about the LA Lakers than anything else.

Enjoy!

Final Thoughts - NBA Finals

Well, I was right about the Lakers. Now I have put up with Kobe-this and Kobe-that. To be honest, I had no interest in the finals this year. I know the Lakers-Celtics rivalry is one of the best in sports, but I had no desire to watch the series. It happens.

Alright, the stats:

10 out of 15; 67%

That's actually better than my NHL predictions. Go figure.

MLB Playoff Predictions - LCS

In the first round, I was correct on two of the four match-ups. Of the two, none were perfect predictions.

Onto to the LCS:

American League Championship Series

NY Yankees over LA Angels in six

National League Championship Series

Philadelphia over LA Dodgers in seven

NOTES: I can't believe the Red Sox and Cardinals folded like cheap suitcases...I hate supporting the Yankees, but objectively, they're a very strong team. A-Rod's finally hitting well in the playoffs. That's a huge bonus...Still not convinced about the Dodgers. I feel they don't have anymore gas left in the tank. It will, however, be a close series.

Final Thoughts: NBA Playoffs

- Damn Lakers. Damn Kobe.

- I should've known better. The western teams tend to be better than the eastern teams. The Lakers have much more experience than Orlando as well. That's all I've got to say.

RECAP:

First round - five out of eight

Second round - four out of four

Third round - two out of two

Final round - zero out of one

Total Score - 11 out of 15, 73%

NBA Playoff Predictions - Round Three

In the second round, I correctly predicted all four match-ups. Of the four, one (Orlando/Boston) was a perfect prediction.

Onto to the conference finals:

Eastern Conference

Orlando over Cleveland in seven

Western Conference

L.A. Lakers over Denver in six

NOTES: Yes, the Cavs have been phenomenal, but the Magic are dangerous. Cleveland will be coming off a layoff, which I feel will hurt their momentum. Nonetheless, it's going to be a great series....Not much I can say about the Lakers and Denver. From my point of view, L.A. is the more talented team and their experience from last year will certainly help.

NBA Playoff Predictions - Round Two

In the first round, I correctly predicted five out of the eight match-ups. Of the five, there were no perfect predictions.

Onto to the second round (better late than never):

Eastern Conference

Cleveland over Atlanta in five
Orlando over Boston in seven

Western Conference

LA Lakers over Houston in four
Denver over Dallas in six

NOTES: Not much to say, but watch out for the Magic. Orlando is very dangerous.
