I miss Nightstream. It's still on CBC Radio 2, but it's changed.
I miss the Nightstream that had a DJ and played experimental and indie music. Now the experimental and indie stuff has been moved to the daytime and I'm left with a voiceless Nightstream, playing elevator/background music.
Now when it's late at night, I listen to Vinyl 95.3. It's alright. It plays some good cheesy pop songs; fits in with my guilty pleasures.
But it's no Nightstream.

Late Night Radio: Nightstream
I was disappointed when CBC decided to cancel Radio 3's weekend broadcasts on Radio 2. The R3 program was the only time I would even listen to Radio 2. But now, I've returned to Radio 2 for a program that is eclectic, diverse and peaceful.
The program is called Nightstream and it airs seven days a week, from 1-6am.
Nightstream offers a wide variety of music. It touches almost every single genre featured on Radio 2. One minute you're listening to a folk song; the next minute you're listening to a catchy tune with electronic beats.
If there is one thing that all the tracks on Nightstream have in common, it's that they all express a calm presence. Each song will allow the listener to relax, reflect and wind down after a long day. Personally, I enjoy listening to the program as I lie in bed, drifting in and out of consciousness.
Of course, the only downside is that Nightstream airs in the very early morning, when you're probably asleep. However, if you are up during the program's five-hour time slot, I highly recommend you to listen. You'll find that Nightstream is a great way find peace in an otherwise hectic world.
